November 13, 2019

There’s nothing better on a hot day than a cold treat. There’s something about the way it can cool you down and the sweet taste. Many would agree. According to recent findings from Grandview Research, the demand for ice cream goes up 50 percent on hot days.

Ice Cream Most Popular Frozen Dessert

The report, “Frozen Dessert Market Size, Share, Global Industry Report, 2019-2025,” also found that ice cream accounted for the largest market globally. In 2018, it was valued at $93.7B and it’s expected to continue climbing with a CAGR of 5.4 percent by 2025. When it came to frozen treats across all generations and age groups, ice cream made up 58.1 percent of the market share in 2018.

Research Findings

While we know all the reasons why people young and old fall in love with ice cream, one interesting point the research makes is the increase in demand for frozen treats as we undergo climate change. With warmer temps and the desire for a cold treat more frequent, it looks like ice cream is here to stay as a favorite treat.
